Make-up with Dustin Lujan: Combating Dry Skin

As the seasons change, lately I have been seeing a lot of dry fall skin on every one. One of the things I’m known for is giving instant glow and plumpness to dry skin, and I want to share my secret to doing this with you!

The first thing I really want to stress is moisturize, moisturize, and yes, moisturize your skin before you start your makeup application. This includes using both face and eye cream. I like to massage it into areas of concern, such as laugh lines, the forehead and the smile lines. The type of moisturizer I recommend is one that is rich in Hyaluronic acid. This substance is a wonderful property that we carry in our own bodies and it holds 100 times its weight in water!

The next important step is to mix your foundation with your moisturizer or tinted moisturizer.  Doing this will give you the coverage and glow you are looking for. By doing this, you don’t have to choose! If you like to use powder over your foundation, choose a loose powder that is talc free.  This type of powder will not oxidize on you and turn darker over time. Next, try putting a little eye cream over your favorite concealer; this will help it bind to the skin as the day wears on.

Last is my very favorite tip and, might I add , the easiest thing to do. After everything is done, simply spray your face with a water mist and press the water into the skin to set and let your skin shine through. Now you have a few tricks up your sleeve to make it through the dry fall and winter months! I invite you to plump it up, ladies.

xoxo, Dustin Lujan
